- How do I sign up to use my guilds website? -
Navigate to your guilds website and in the main navigation at the top of the page,
mouse over sign up and click existing guild member registration. Here, it will ask
you to create a GuildToad account, which you will use to log into your guilds website.
Follow the steps, and when prompted, enter your guild password (which you should
get from your guild leader). Pick the characters that belong to you, and you're
done! After that, you should have member access to your guilds website.
Events
- What are 'event filters'? -
Event filters are rules that you can apply to a event that you create. These filters
can limit the number of players, level of players, classes, and roles that you will
allow in your group. When guild members sign up for your event, they will be sorted
according to the filters you specify. For example: If you're running Gruul's Lair,
you'll need a mage for the High King Maulgar fight. How do you convey that in your
event? Add a filter that says: 'By Class', 'Mage', Minimum of 1. This will make
sure that your raid will not fill up without a mage. To turn the event filters off,
just don't add any when creating an event.
Forums/Guild Chat
- What happens when a guild member leaves the guild? -
There is an option in the Guild Website Control Panel that allows the guild leader
to let 'ex guild members post', which means, ex-guild members will be allowed to
continue to communicate as usual, but they cannot participate in any other functions
of the website besides forums and chat.
- Where do I edit my signature and avatar? -
In your GuildToad Account Settings, you may change your avatar, which will display
in place of the default character avatar. You may also change your signature there,
which will display below all of your forum posts.
- Is the Guild Chat saved anywhere? -
Nope. If you'd like to have a conversation 'on record', you may use the forums to
do so. The forum posts are never deleted unless the guild leader, or site administrator
decide to do so.
Guild Site Management
- Why are my guild ranks showing up as numbers? -
Unless you are using the GuildToad client application, we will be pulling all your
guild information from the World of Warcraft ™ armory (www.wowarmory.com).
Unfortunately, they do not provide the names of the guild ranks, only the rank numbers.
0 means guild leader, and so on. These rank names can be changed from numbers to
names in the Guild Website Control Panel.
- What parts of my Guild Website can I customize? -
All of them. In the Guild Website Control Panel, there are two sections to change
the appearance of your Guild Website.
1) Changing the theme of your site:
You can pick from a handful of pre-designed skins, OR you can switch to css mode
and change the actual CSS code of the website. This is for advanced users who know
CSS! Here, you can change 100% of your website's look, not including the position
of elements. You can change colors, fonts, borders, backgrounds, and specific images
on your Guild Website.
2) Changing the Guild Website Banner:
You can pick from a handful of pre-designed banners, which will automatically add
your guild name and realm name, OR you can create your own banner. You can add images,
text, etc. Advanced users who know HTML can even switch to HTML view and write their
own HTML code for the banner area!
